He edited and contributed to Nationality and the Pursuit of National Independence, which was published in Belfast in 1978, and in 1982 he published Davitt and Irish Revolution, 1846-1882. Volume IX is the second of the companion volumes and includes maps. In 9 volumes, it provides a comprehensive new synthesis of modern scholarship on every aspect of Irish history and prehistory, from the earliest geological and archaeological evidence, through the Middle Ages, down to the present day. Theodore William Moody was born in Belfast and was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution and Queen's University, Belfast.
